Edinburgh (YPED)

Airspace

ED ADC administers the ED MIL CTR airspace from SFC to A015. AD TCU administers the overlying airspace from A015 to F245.

Tower Closed Procedures

When ED ADC is offline, ED MIL CTR (Class C SFC to A015) reverts to Class G. CTAF procedures apply at YPED.

Departures

VFR aircraft should expect a visual departure on track to their first tracking point.

IFR aircraft should expect to be issued with a SID as per below:

Aircraft Type Runway First Waypoint SID

Arrivals

An ILS and RNP approach is available to RWY 18.

IFR aircraft can generally expect to be processed via a STAR for the following approach:

RWY 18 ILS
RWY 36 Visual

Initial and Pitch

The intial points are east of the runway, at the following locations. Aircraft will pitch west in order not to impede on the Class G boundary.

Special Use Airspace

SUA exists in the surrounding enroute airspace, which pilots may request the activation and use of. Pilots must make any such requests to SMC when requesting airways clearance.

Circuits

Circuit operations occur within the CTR bounded by the Gawler River to the north and the powerline running from the Gawler River (1.5NM south of the Gawler Township) to the south eastern boundary of the ED CTR.

Helicopter Operations

Helipads

There is one helipad at YPED, on Taxiway D immediately east of OLA 11.

The helipad is part of the manoeuvring area. Any helicopter taking off or landing on the helipad requires a specific takeoff or landing clearance from ADC.

Phraseology

ED ADC: "CHOP41, taxiway D, cleared to land"
